Spiritual healing, stitches and car repossession are just a few of the things Eddie Griffin encountered on this weeks episode of "Going for Broke". Although I'm a fan of his work, I'm not sure if this show is trying to be a comedy style reality or a desperate last attempt to make money because he actually is going broke. Either way I still find this show absolutely hilarious. Although his narration throughout the show is not exactly what some would call "politically correct", he makes for great entertainment. For someone who is going broke he sure doesn't act like it, Eddie decided to take some "me time" and go to Las Vegas, not really the place to save money.
on his face he needs stitches. Eddie says "He's sewing up my face like you'd sew up some clothes", this line strikes a nerve in one of my Real Reality Moments. I started seeing an allergy specialist to try and figure out just what it is I'm allergic to. A few pints of blood later and an embarrassing fainting episode in the doctors offices and I find out I'm allergic to all 42 items on the list they tested for. Sweet! The only solution is to get weekly injections of a special made elixir, the first injection is at the office and the rest you do on your own. To say the least, this concept does not sit well with me, I hate needles. I hate getting shots, I pass out every time I get blood drawn and I practically cry when I get my finger pricked, I'm a baby.
I went to the allergy specialist today for my first round of shots, yes multiple shots. This lovely woman came up to me and stabbed me three times in the arm, she also so nonchalantly mentioned if I noticed any reaction, soreness or red lumps near the injection site to not be concerned. Yeah sure no big deal just stab me a few times I won't worry when my arm swells up like a balloon. So this real reality moment of mine certainly helped me empathize with Eddie while having his face sew up oh so casually.
To help fix is Karma Eddie decides to get a spiritual cleansing. But his cleansing experience is a little more terrifying than cleansing. Eddie doesn't take to this cleansing so easily, he's shocked this woman is going to spit on him he also is highly confused by her use of maracas to chant and call the spirits. He also quite frankly looks high as a kite. I'm not sure if when you sign up to do a reality show you're still allowed to carry on your daily um "activities" but they certainly do show him smoking a lot and I'm under the assumption they are not cigarettes.

In the end he claimed he felt better but his day was only getting worse when he found out his Bentley was getting repossessed. In a quick second his new found spiritual healing went out the window and his temper came glaring back in. Although this temper tantrum seemed to fit typical reality show nature, I personally think it was pretty understandable. For anyone who has ever gotten their car even towed you should understand his rage. Sometimes these real moments although unfortunate do make for the best laughs. I mean once your car is already gone what can you really do besides laugh? I can only imagine what crazy encounter Eddie will have next week!
